Description
Summary:Existing TAI systems mostly use metal wires to calibrate their spatial resolution. However, research on the imaging mechanism of the metal wire and the setting of the wire parameters that can affect the system's spatial resolution is not sufficient in this context. In general, there is a lack of understanding of the factors affecting spatial resolution. A TAI system, consisting of parallel plate irradiation structures has been developed. Results show that the source of the thermoacoustic signals is the ohmic loss generated by the induced electromotive force. Moreover, the pulse width of the induced electromotive force signal is narrower than that of the system excitation signal, which holds the potential benefits for improving the spatial resolution of the TAI.
