Summary: | This paper presents the development of an electrochemical sensor based on a modified ionic liquid, 3-Amine-N-[3-(N-pyrrole)propyl]imidazole bromide (APPIBr), for the detection of lactose content in dairy products. The sensor utilizes cellobiose dehydrogenase (CDH) as the catalytic enzyme for lactose oxidation. The APPIBr/CDH-modified electrode exhibits excellent electrocatalytic activity, enabling sensitive and selective lactose detection. The sensor offers a wide linear range of 50 µM to 3 mM and a low detection limit of 0.58 µM. The developed sensor eliminates the need for complex sample preparation steps, providing rapid and on-site analysis of lactose in dairy products. Compared to traditional lactose detection methods such as HPLC, the sensor demonstrates comparable accuracy and repeatability. The findings highlight the potential of the APPIBr/CDH-based electrochemical sensor for practical applications in the analysis of lactose content in dairy products. |
