description | Poverty is a complex and often difficult problem for society. The issue affects various societal layers, including urban, rural, and those with a low socioeconomic level. This study aims to identify the impact of the number of dependents and the quality of life of the Head of Household (HoHs) among B40 in PPR Kerinchi, Kuala Lumpur. This study involved 330 respondents of the B40 group in the Kerinchi area, Kuala Lumpur. This study uses a quantitative approach to collect data. The study utilized a questionnaire to gather data on the impact of the number of dependents and the quality of life of the household head. The results show that HoHs B40 in PPR Kerinchi Kuala Lumpur is in the age range of 40 to 59 years. Based on this study, 59.60 percent of respondents have a household size between 5 and 8 people. This shows the size of the relatively significant congestion occurring in the PPR housing units involved. Furthermore, most respondents, 58.1%, have dependents still studying, and 78% have mental health issues. According to this study, HoHs needs to consider all aspects of education and health for each dependent. In conclusion, understanding urban poverty socioeconomics is crucial for policymakers to develop effective poverty alleviation programs and policies for the B40 group in Kuala Lumpur. The study's findings provide insight into the challenges faced by the urban poor in Kuala Lumpur and inform future efforts to address poverty and inequality in the region. |
