Experimental study and thermodynamic calculation of Bi–Cu–Sb system phase equilibria

Phase equilibria in the Bi–Cu–Sb ternary system have been studied experimentally and calculated by the CALPHAD method. Three calculated vertical sections from bismuth corner with molar ratio of copper and antimony equal to 7/3, 1/1 and 3/7 and one vertical section from antimony corner with molar rat...

Description
Summary:Phase equilibria in the Bi–Cu–Sb ternary system have been studied experimentally and calculated by the CALPHAD method. Three calculated vertical sections from bismuth corner with molar ratio of copper and antimony equal to 7/3, 1/1 and 3/7 and one vertical section from antimony corner with molar ratio of copper and bismuth equal to 1/1 were compared with the DTA results from this work. Calculated isothermal section at 400 °C was compared with the results of SEM/EDX analysis from the present study. Reasonable agreement between calculations and experimental data was observed in all cases.
