Low temperature hydrothermal synthesis of CdS submicro- and microspheres self-assembled from nanoparticles
CdS submicro- and microspheres self-assembled from nanoparticles are prepared by convenient hydrothermal process through the reactions of CdCl 2·2.5H 2O and Na 2S 2O 3·5H 2O in aqueous solution at a relatively low temperature (100 °C).The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses indicate that the products w...

2O in aqueous solution at a relatively low temperature (100 °C).The X-ray diffraction (XRD) analyses indicate that the products were hexagonal CdS. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observation reveal that the products consist of a large number of submicro- and microspheres which are self-assembled from nanoparticles with sizes of about 10–20 nm. The Raman spectra of the spheres are presented. The influencing factors about the morphologies of product are discussed, too. |
