11B NMR Study Of Possible Heavy Fermion Compound CePt2B2C
We report 11B NMR Knight shift (K) and spin-lattice-relaxation rate (1 / T1) in CePt2B2C in the range of 8-315 K. The quadrupolar coupling constant (vQ) is 780+10 KHz. The change of hyperfine field (Hhf) is observed below 43 K in the K vs. susceptibility (x) plot. The calculated value ofHhf is 0.153...

Summary: | We report 11B NMR Knight shift (K) and spin-lattice-relaxation rate (1 / T1) in CePt2B2C in the range of 8-315 K. The quadrupolar coupling constant (vQ) is 780+10 KHz. The change of hyperfine field (Hhf) is observed below 43 K in the K vs. susceptibility (x) plot. The calculated value ofHhf is 0.153 K0e/gB. The 1/Ti vs. T curve shows some exotic behavior. In the temperature range of 300-150 K, 1/Tif i.e the f-electron contribution to the rate, is independent of T indicating a Curie-Weiss behaviour. 1/Tif shows a hump in the range 100-60 K. Below 60 K, 1/T1f sharply decreases indicating a suppression of the short range correlation effect and follows a power law behavior T11 = CT' with 0.576 and a = 0.73. This indicates a non Fermi liquid nature of the conduction electrons at low temperature. |
