Depolarization of Light Scattered from Rough Cylindrical Surfaces

In this work we study the state of polarization of light scattered from rough cylindrical surfaces. The experimental results show that the amount of cross-polarized light at a particular observation angle is correlated with the roughness of the cylinders. We compare these results with those obtained...

Description
Summary:In this work we study the state of polarization of light scattered from rough cylindrical surfaces. The experimental results show that the amount of cross-polarized light at a particular observation angle is correlated with the roughness of the cylinders. We compare these results with those obtained using the Kirchhoff's vector theory and analyze if the differences can be modeled on multiple-scattering effects.
