Description
Summary:Monitoring of oxidant/antioxidant state (antioxidant activity of blood and blood fractions) is essential for selecting and applying important therapy, to reduce and to prevent oxidative stress and irreversible changes in the body. The paper describes a new potentiometric method of determining antioxidant\oxidant activity (AOA/OA) of blood and blood fractions. The source of information is the electrode potential shift observed when the analyzed sample is introduced into the medium containing a mediator system. Mediator system, measuring electrode, method of blood hemolysis, anticoagulant are chosen. Comparison of the results obtained with the method proposed and the TAS (Randox) method confirms high self‐descriptiveness, and reliability of the results provided by potentiometric method. Relative standard deviation of analysis results, obtained with the use of MPA‐1 instrument and sensor proposed does not exceed 6–10%.
