Summary: | A model for the deformation behavior of ATJ-S graphite, a nonlinear transversely isotropic granular composite material, under initial loading is extended in two important ways. First, the constants in the model are physically interpreted and their effect on convergence of the iteration procedure is examined. Second, the model is further qualified by comparison of predicted strains with strains measured in uniaxial off-axis loading. |
