Summary:We summarise the CS15 splinter session dealing with the winds and chromospheres of cool giant and supergiant stars. The motivation behind the session was to bring together various researchers in the field with the purpose of forming some important common goals for future work, as well as to hear some of the latest results. We provide an overview of the results that were presented and highlight some of the main outcomes of the discussions.
