Scaling Features of Violent Social Conflicts
We discuss two simple quantitative models for: (1) Richardson's law for the distribution of the size of wars; (2) The distribution of the size of severe terrorist attacks. In both cases the models predict power law exponents that are consistent with the empirical data.
