Summary: | A new method for preparing high surface area from urban waste is proposed. The method consists the precipitation of a precursor that contains mixed with a linear polymer and subsequently the decomposition of the precursor by heating in and air to 1200 C. The resulting alpha-alumina of nanocrystals of about 100 nm aggregated into particles with relatively high surface area (12 and a significant macropore volume of 0.545 cm3g. SEM, HRTEM and SAED were used to characterise the of the prepared materials. Results of DTA, TGA emanation thermal analysis characterised the behaviour of alpha-alumina precursors. |
