Summary: | The influence of lightweight expanded clay and aggregates on the mechanical performance of was studied through their volume fractions and qualities. A very thorough characterisation of a of LWAs was completed. The influence of is not only related to its particle density but to the shell thickness, the percentage of large and broken grains. A reverse determination of the modulus of LWA was carried out based on the data. The comparison with values measured confirms the part played by the aggregate stiffer in the mechanical properties of LWA. |
