Hydrothermal synthesis and characterization of ZnO nanorods
ZnO nanorods were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis using Zn(OH) 4 2− precursor in alcohol solution at 110 °C. The microstructure of samples was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) and selected area electron diffraction (SAED). The nucleation...

Summary: | ZnO nanorods were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis using Zn(OH)
4
2− precursor in alcohol solution at 110
°C. The microstructure of samples was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), high-resolution transmission electron microscope (HRTEM) and selected area electron diffraction (SAED). The nucleation and growth process explains the formation mechanism of the ZnO nanorods. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra show a UV emission at 400
nm, which is related to defects in the rods. |
