Comet Hyakutake Blazes in X-rays

A team of astronomers examined Comet Hyakutake with an x-ray telescope and found a bright, crescent-shaped region of emission on the comet's sunward side. Although this has not be explained, astronomers believe it could yield clues to the composition of the comet or the behavior of solar winds.
