Kluyveromyces lactis toxin does not inhibit yeast adenylyl cyclase

Research reports that although the toxin Kluyveromyces lactis does induce G1 cell cycle arrest, its effects on Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells cannot be mediated by inhibition of adenylyl cyclase, and that treated cells never recover from its effects.
