Summary:We propose an efficient new method for the evaluation of the stress intensity factor in a ferromagnetic body with a crack. It is shown that the stress intensity factor agrees well with a known exact magnetoelastic solution for a circular crack. The values of the stress intensity factor in a ferromagnetic body with an elliptic and a semielliptic crack are determined.
