Monte Carlo study of radial and axial ordering in cylindrical films of liquid crystal

We report Markov chain Monte Carlo simulation of orientational ordering in a thin film of liquid crystal confined between two cylindrical substrates. We find there exists two ordered phases in the system. A biaxial phase is formed for certain anchoring strengths.
