Strength Ratios of Composite Materials in Flexure and in Tension
Data are given to indicate that the Weibull statistical strength theory (1939) predicts correctly the strength behavior of composite materials such as Thornel 300/5208 and Modmor II/5208. It is suggested that other composite materials be tested to verify the applicability of this theory because less...

Summary: | Data are given to indicate that the Weibull statistical strength theory (1939) predicts correctly the strength behavior of composite materials such as Thornel 300/5208 and Modmor II/5208. It is suggested that other composite materials be tested to verify the applicability of this theory because less expensive flexural specimens could be then used in tensile strength estimates for preliminary design purposes. |
