Description
Summary:A study was conducted to create a biomimicking graft scaffold with collagen fibers for a reinforcement material and a biodegradable matrix material (composite structure). Collagen fibers were spun and a biodegradable PLA matrix was spun around this fiber for smooth muscle cell (SMC) seeding and to hold the fibers in place during tissue regeneration. The construct was seeded with human aortic SMCs and the resulting graft was analyzed.
