The theoretical limit to the accuracy of clinical refraction measurement

A model is proposed for the fluctuations in eye refraction and a physical interpretation of the errors in measuring the clinical refraction in optometry that result from this. A theoretical limit is calculated for the measurement of normal eye refraction, which is about 0.15–0.3 m −1 (diopters).
