Summary: | A few studies on whether a telephone interviewer's voice characteristics are important to the cooperation of respondents which concerned the measures of objective acoustic measures, voice characteristics, and recipients' impression of the personal characteristics of the interviewer have been conducted. Van der Vaart, et al attempt to answer whether there is a plausible theoretical explanation for these relationships by extending these studies by utilizing the measures jointly, applying the measures to interview introductions for large-scale household survey, and by relating the measures to the interviewers cooperation rates. |
