Description
Summary:The radical transformation of the lithic production during the Mesolithic in Ireland does not appear to be the result of external factors (the arrival of new groups), nor is it due to a change in lifestyle of the existing populations (the species and territories that were exploited). The technological shift in the lithic production, which is hitherto unknown in this form in other European countries, appears to be the result of an internal transformation of the Mesolithic societies and their socio-economic organisation, but perhaps also changes in the manner in which these societies represent themselves within the space that they occupied.
