Summary: | A translog production function with different types of services from public infrastructure is estimated for four census regions and four industries. The data set covers the 48 contiguous states over the period 1970–1986. Services from water and sewer facilities are shown to be a productive factor of private production in all regions. However, there is strong evidence to support the hypothesis that different regions and industries react differently to various types of public infrastructure. |
