Description
Summary:This paper places the study of vernacular design in the broader context of environment-behavior studies. It proposes a single framework for thinking about the topic, based on three questions: What is it that is studied? Why is it (or should it be) studied? How is it to be studied? Each of these questions is discussed, various approaches to studying vernacular design briefly reviewed, and a proposal made for how it should be studied.
