Summary:Discusses research examining the quality of life (QOL) of 105 elderly persons with mental diseases, comparing QOL across three different nosological groups, & testing dynamics of QOL parameters from hospitalization to discharge. Patients with recurrent depressive disease over the study period gave a considerably lower QOL assessment than did those patients with schizophrenia & organic brain damage, whose assessments were similar. 3 Tables, 15 References.
