Summary: | Commercial and military applications continue to increase in complexity of their definition, deployment, and management. New applications necessitate looking at current concepts, such as location, in new ways that are a function of context, policy and associated usage semantics. More importantly, more sophisticated operational scenarios currently demand the ability for more intelligent network services - ones that can be adjusted in response to different needs - and dynamically created and removed. This paper describes a novel environment that enables a model driven architecture to be implemented to realize Location Aware Network Services. One of the key benefits of using a model driven approach is that network services can be directly related to the changing environment. The model driven approach defined in this paper enables business, system, and implementation views to be represented and linked together, enabling resources and services to be defined that are self-aware and self-managing.
