Summary:The ALCTS Technical Services Directors of Large Research Libraries Discussion Group (Big Heads) met to discuss issues of interest to the technical services administrators of large research libraries. The agenda for this meeting included the following topics: (1) an update on Resource Description and Access; (2) an update on the work of the ALCTS Non-English Steering Committee; (3) an update on the Library of Congress response to the Library of Congress Working Group on the Future of Bibliographic Control's report and recommendations; (4) a discussion of the ILS discovery interface task force proposal from the Digital Library Federation (DLF); (5) the cost and value of vendor records, including the results of a survey conducted regarding Casalini records; and (6) a report on the RLG Partners meeting in Philadelphia, June 2008.
