Natural mentors: An overlooked resource in the social networks of young, African American mothers

The influence of natural mentors on the psychological adjustment of 129 young, African American mothers was studied. Mentors may help young mothers to make better use of their networks and serve as a buffer against the negative effects of relationship problems.
