Description
Summary:Contemporary literature identifies communication skills as vital tools for success in the workplace. Currently, in Australia these skills are identified as generic competencies in many workplaces and vocation, and large numbers of contemporary training programmes focus on the development of these vital skills. However, research and anecdotal evidence from the workplace suggests that current methods used in training programmes are not developing the level of communication skill necessary in today's workplace. This article will describe innovative methods drawn from the fields of theatre and educational drama, which have the capacity to develop high levels of competency in communication in workplace and vocational training.
