Summary: | Considers what the impact of the tutorial group process is on generating useful learning issues; when and how learning issues are used during individual study; and what determines the choice of literature during individual study. Finds that discussions in tutorial groups, the tutors' functioning, and the quality of problems are important factors in generating useful learning and are important influences on the selection of literature for further study. Also important in determining the selection of literature are literature references and objectives given to the students by their teachers. (Original abstract - amended) |
