Description
Summary:Long and short forms of a scale (the OPSA) were developed. Its psychometric properties were tested with 161 community-dwelling older adults. It was found to have good internal reliability, correlate highly with an established retrospective measure and to be distinct from ratings of quantity and quality of social support. Overprotection was associated with poorer adjustment; and more depressed patients. (Original abstract-amended)
