Description
Summary:From a scholarly viewpoint, this dictionary, compared with earlier works of this type, is the best to appear thus far. The total number of entries, not listed by the authors, is estimated to be several thousand--translations are very good. Important features include indications of stylistic levels of the expressions, & good cross-references. Because much of this information is already available in other works, the greatest potential audience for the book would be students; however, the book's price may make it inaccessible. Revision of its 'unattractive' format & republication in paperback form would make this a very worthwhile acquisition. B. Annesser
