Summary: | Remarks on two studies on Hebrew morphology by Joshua Blau are presented. The first, (1992) on nouns ending in paragogic -ah, is extended by citation of additional examples of the ending, a suggestion that a following guttural reduced penultimate to ultimate stress, a Biblical verse containing penultimate & ultimate stress, & the citation of a Modern Hebrew form impossible in Biblical use. The second work, on multilayered structures in Biblical Hebrew (see LLBA 27/3, 9306226), notes that a tendency is evidenced to place a dages in the taw after a guttural in roots & suffixes, & when the accent immediately precedes a guttural, the guttural is voiced with a latent s(schwa)wa.
