Summary: | The Railway Labor Act was written in 1926 at the behest of the railroad brotherhoods and the carriers and was particularly designed to fit the labor problems of the railroad industry. In 1936, it was, with a few exceptions, made applicable to the airlines. Mr. McLaughlin argues that the statute does not meet the needs of the airline industry and that either the Railway Labor Act should be amended or the airlines should be placed under the National Labor Relations Act. |
