Description
Summary:While the fundamental aspects of industrial relations in the Federal Republic - the principles of "conflictual co-operation" and bargaining autonomy, the dual system of negotiation, and the legislative framework - have weathered the two crises of the 1970s remarkably well, a number of developments have occurred in response to changes in the economic and social climate. After reviewing the organisation and role of the bargaining parties, the author discusses developments in legislation, collective agreements and bargaining procedures, describes the results produced by evolving strategies, and comments on the co-determination system as it affects collective bargaining, recent trends in labour disputes, and the outlook for the future
