Description
Summary:In this paper, the author has made some inferences regarding the prepotency of job-related needs of factory workers employed in a progressive textile mill from the importance ranking of ten incentive items. The main purpose of the study was to test the hypothesis that hygiene factors in general would be assigned higher rankings than motivators. The result of a statistical test based on the ranking data for 100 workers clearly supports the hypothesis. It was found that pay, opportunities for advancement, and job security were the first three most important incentives. At the bottom of the list were fringe benefits and working hours.
