Summary: | The authors analyze the results of a survey questionnaire completed by 161 whistleblowers, 80 percent of whom were or are government employees. They examine the consequences of whistleblowing and explore the organizational position and personal attributes of whistleblowers. The authors report severe retaliation against this group of whistleblowers and find that they are in many ways exceptional and tend to exhibit a distinctive approach to moral issues and decision making. |
