Description
Summary:Based on the research: "The War's Words. The Narrated Wars of 19th Century," this article tries to describe the role of the civil wars in the construction of the Colombian State. This work is supported by the contributions of theoreticians such as: Stathis Kalyvas, Norbert Elias & Charles Tilly among others. Besides, it takes reference on the concrete aspects of the national & local history over three of the most relevant confrontations of 19th century: "The War of the Supremes," "The Military-Artisan War" & the "The March the 7th War." This article notices the contraposition between some of the theoretical approaches about the nation -- proposed in other historical contexts -- & the reality of some Hispano-American countries. The last statement suggests the necessity of introducing some nuances in order to apply these concepts properly. Adapted from the source document.
