Summary: | In the 2005 election campaign, the current Polish governing parties made criticised the foundations of economic policy in the 1990s. This gave rise to the fear that the Law and Justice party would undo the achievements realised. Despite the Euro-scepticism & protectionist rhetoric, however, the conservative government has not shaken the Polish economy's integration into European & global markets. It has taken efforts to consolidate the budget, keep the zloty stable & has seen to it that money from the EU funds is collected with greater consistency.
