Summary: | Georg Elwert attempted on the one hand a systematic compilation of all the attempts of formulating a conflict theory & on the other hand a further development of his theoretical thoughts through a dialogue with empirically working colleagues. The editors of this journal decided to print this manuscript for three reasons: (1) it summarizes all of Elwert's thoughts regarding a conflict theory; (2) it attests to the empirical sustainability of this concept that integrates many phenomena under one perspective; & (3) it gives an insight into the formal structure of Elwert's thinking.
