Description
Summary:An assessment is made of the perceptual effects of factors that might underlie the differential perceptions, between acquaintance & stranger rape, of victim-perpetrator attraction & ambiguity in victim's desire for intercourse. Psychology students (N = 60 men & 60 women) read accounts of rape that varied in such attraction & ambiguity. Perception tended to be less favorable toward the victim & more lenient toward the defendant when there was ambiguity in the victim's desire for intercourse. Men tended to look less favorably on the victim & to be more lenient toward the defendant. 1 Table, 26 References. Modified HA
