Summary: | Serious human rights abuses in several countries have prompted the United Nations Commission on Human Rights (CHR) to appoint special rapporteurs to be their representatives in these countries. Rapporteurs are supposed to be objective, independent of their host countries, and impartial in their fact-finding missions and giving solutions to crisis. Fostering contact, and friendly relations between countries are considered essential aspects of the job. |
