Description
Summary:The Iranian countryside has undergone upheaval during the past few decades, not just socioeconomically but also religiously. The reformist current has changed many traditional Shiite conceptions, as is shown by this analysis of opinions in a village in the Kerman area. Ideas about God, the Imams & Mohammed are undergoing deep changes; & more emphasis is being given to humanity as the center & end of the creation. In parallel, the understanding of religious law is being rationalized: divine commands have no purpose save mankind's well-being & spiritual progress. 8 References. Adapted from the source document.
