Summary: | In the next 30 yrs or so, it will be necessary not only to meet the multiplied demands for water of a doubled world pop, but to employ water as a global coolant to prevent overheating of the planet. Extraordinary programs, conceived on a regional, intercontinental or planetray scale, will have to be undertaken to meet the demand. Among these are land improvement schemes to divert for use some of the fresh water that is presently lost to the oceans & projects to increase evaporation of salt waters-which then return as rain-by diverting ocean waters into sea basins in hot, arid zones.
