Summary: | A study of sex life after radical gynecological surgery, based upon an analysis of several cases treated by the author & others. These cases include hysterectomy (out of 65 cases examined by Munnell, 28% had increased pleasure & 53.5% experienced little or no change post-operatively); ovariotectomy (of 123 cases studied by A. E. Kinsey, 23 were eliminated because they had had no orgasm a yr or 2 before operation, 42 reported no change in f of intercourse, 15 increased f & 43 decreased f ); & removal of all external genitalia including clitoris (contrary to most textbooks, orgasm is still possible in younger women). It is concluded that sexual feeling in the F is largely supratentorial & that radical surgery normally does not prevent orgasm. I. Langnas. |
