Summary: | Techniques for book reviewing are discussed. The responsibility of the reviewer is to provide an accurate & unbiased description. Basic elements of the review include a discussion of the scope, purpose, strengths, & weaknesses of the book. The reviewer is obligated to read carefully & to judge professionally all work. In order to prevent inaccuracies, the recommendation is made that reviewers should send a copy of their review to the author for comment before publication. Editors should only commission qualified & unbiased reviewers. Editors must also discern which books are appropriate for review. J. Schulman. |
