Description
Summary:The development of a Marxist-Leninist theory on the position & role of youth in socialist countries is discussed. Elements of this theory emerging in socialist sociology include: (1) empirical studies on characteristics of youth populations; (2) comparative studies of youth in different SE & political systems; & (3) discussions of contradictions in youth socialization & activism, passivity vs particpation, & intergenerational differences. The need to systematize such studies in relation to current historical & material conditions is stressed. Modified HA.
