The change from being anxiously depressed to feeling hysterical after a brief euphoria bears several risks, such as a return to resignation, adapting to chaotic hysteria, or a combination of resigned hysteria. Intellectuals can contribute to the political climate on a flexible note, just like eating garlic modulates blood pressure upward or downward. Being released from mere survival brings on creative loneliness, a condition heretofore not available either. |
