Description
Summary:This review summarizes the small body of research and literature to date that focuses on the specific effects of homelessness on children. In each of the major areas surveyed--health, development, and education--studies reveal that homeless children are not simply at risk; most suffer specific physical, psychological, and emotional damage due to the circumstances that usually accompany episodes of homelessness for families and children. The article concludes with a brief consideration of the research and policy implications of this research.
